I am a doctor of Counselling Psychology, trained at London’s City University.
I have worked within the field of psychology and psychotherapy for fifteen years and have experience of practising therapy with adults, adolescents and children. I provide therapy to individuals and couples, as well as providing group therapy.
My area of specialist expertise is eating disorders. I have worked with people suffering with Anorexia and Bulimia Nervosa, ED-NOS, food addiction, overeating, body image issues and body dissatisfaction. I have also carried out extensive research in the field of eating disorders, including during my doctoral thesis. My work with eating disorders patients has included time spent at the specialist Capio Nightingale Hospital and Rhodes Farm.
I have experience of working with a wide range of other issues, including bereavement, terminal illness, health problems, relationship difficulties, anxiety and depression.
My career has incorporated time working in a number of NHS organisations, including Great Ormond Street Hospital, the Tavistock and Portman Clinics, and Guy’s Hospital, as well as in a private clinic on Harley Street. I have also worked with a bereavement charity, providing therapy to both children and adults who have recently lost a family member or a significant person in their lives.
I now practise private psychotherapy from my consulting room in Finchley, North London.
I am a member of many professional psychological bodies, including the British Psychological Society, the Division of Counselling Psychology, the Health and Care Professions Council and the Register of Qualifications in Test. I am also recognised by BUPA, AXA, Cigna and Vitality Healthcare insurers.
